“Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.”

The Glorious is a vibrant, lively cafe bar and workshop/creative centre located in the heart of Exeter's independent west-quarter. It forms part of a rich local community of unique shops and creative businesses on Fore Street.

It was co-founded by Rosy Tydeman, an artist with a passion for colour and pattern. Inspired by the colours and patterns of Mexico, the cafe and whole building itself is a living work of art - on every visit, you'll notice something new. Rosy wanted to create an oasis from the grey British weather and so The Glorious, from the sunshine yellow ceiling to the hand painted walls, from the authentic Mexican tiles to the extravagant crockery will guarantee to bring a moment of joy to your day. Our dog-friendly courtyard garden provides a secluded outdoor space for sunny days and romantic fairy lit nights.

The Glorious is available for group bookings (over 7) and private events and pop-ups during the day and in the evenings. We also work with artists, creatives and scientists to put on an exhibition on our second floor which can be seen when you are just visiting or during private gallery events.

Come along soon to our warm welcome, some of our well-crafted hot and cold drinks, yummy cakes and freshly prepared breakfasts and lunches. We also do take aways regularly, just in case you are in out and about and can't stop over. Thank you for reading about our story.

Food & Drink
At Glorious Exeter, we proudly work with independent suppliers for our tea and coffee. Our baristas take care in ensuring every cup of coffee or tea (or every glorious chocolate) is made to the finest standard. The same goes for our simple but delicious food menu for breakfast, lunch and treats. We are carefully working to reduce our impact on the planet and we will have more on that soon.

Evenings
Occasionally we have pop-up events and the cafe stays open late to welcome you for alcoholic and soft drinks as well as our delicious coffees and teas, accompanied by a variety of live acoustic music, poetry slams and art parties. Please get in touch if you would like to find out more.
